- Deep Sea Organisms could survive in Space - Down at the bottom of the sea where a massive part of the Earth's biomass lives, there are microbial creatures who metabolize at an incredibly slow rate and cell-divide over hundreds of years (rather than 20 minutes for some similar creatures) ... these beasties could live in hydrothermal vents beneath the ice of Jupiter's Europa or in subsurface aquifers of Mars
- Kevlar protects inside and out - Scientists are looking to upgrade Kevlar body armour to protect against bacteria and viruses like those that cause Anthrax ... gotta be more fashionable than the old Bio-Hazard suits
- North Star revival - Although Shakespeare's Julius Caesar declared, "I am as constant as the Northern star, Of whose true-fix'd and resting quality There is no fellow in the firmament" the North Star has actually been growing dimmer ... a bit like Julius Caesar eventually did in fact when he didn't notice all those buggers plotting to kill him ... now it's getting brighter again, but no-one knows why?
