- Harsh times for Sci-fi Business ahead - There are some signs that business is getting hard within the sci-fi community, just as it is being hit in other areas at the moment. Tokyopop, the manga and comic publishers are suffering. They are among a few noticeable absentees from this years ComicCon, reported by io9 this week (although I am more likely to believe Paramount's reasoning here than believe that they are in trouble), and Tartan films in the UK have gone into Administration; they were distributors of some of the best Japanese and Far East Uber-Violence films we have in our DVD collections.
